Hades Star Walkthrough P2

In Part One we went over the first play through of your time in Hades Star. In Part Two, we're going to expand on that some.

It's likely been a few hours since you were logged into Hades Star, or perhaps you're reading ahead to get as much info in advance as you can.

Hades Star Elite New Player Guide Walkthrough Tips Tricks

Shipments replenish every 12 hours, so try to make it onto the game at least twice a day to maximize potential profit from shipments. If you're following my guide, you have completed at least two red stars so far, and probably have 3 planets colonized.

The first thing to do is scan as many of the 6 initial sectors as possible. These initial sectors take four hours to scan though. You *could* spent some crystals to accelerate, but it's better not to. Also, you can only scan one sector at a time.

It is going to take you probably two days to reveal the first six sectors completely.

Through this scanning you should reveal a fourth planet, a terran type. I suggest choosing a sector where you don't care if it is empty or not as your first choice for scan. There is some funky algorithms going on when it comes to sector scans and where planets are found. Systems are not pre generated, but are somewhat random.

You'll want to upgrade your 3 starting planets. Focus the upgrades on your water planet, as it provides the best benefits so far. Upgrade your desert planet the least, increasing it only as needed to increase your credit capacity. To see the details of a planet, select it and then click on the magnifying glass on the bottom left of the screen. Note that at the bottom of this menu is the option to rename your planets as well.

It is imperative that you do a bit of research at this point. In order to maximize your sectors and minimize your costs (and save you about 20 million in credits,) I highly encourage you to study this sector map. Bookmark the reddit post for future reference.

So we've completed a couple of red stars at this point and gathered some artifacts (or 'arts' for short.) Artifacts are broken down in by color and shape. Brown orbs give military tech, blue crystals give economic tech, and purple tetrahedrons give support tech. Support modules include emp, teleport, remote repair, etc.

The very first art we got was a blue crystal in that gimme demo red star. What we're looking for after that are brown orbs, because we want to upgrade our weapons. Every battleship starts with Weak Battery. Level 1 orbs unlock Battery. Get it, love it, use it. You will also be unlocked Alpha shields. Get it, love it, use it. Keep both battery and alpha shields from red star one to red star three.

If you've been following along so far, you should reach level 4 pretty quickly. At 4th is the only game mechanic to be level gated - and that is corporations.

Corporations in Hades are both like, and very different from, alliances/leagues/guilds what have you that are in other war games. Corps only have room for 25 players, so there are quite a lot of them. Corps are easy to make, requiring only 10,000 credits (Don't do this. If you want to make your own corp, wait until you have red star 3 on farm and the 10k is cheap.)

With that in mind, click on the big blue arrow in the middle of the screen to open the social menu. This is the chat menu, and the central tab is the corporations. There should be lots of corps that are 'open' to all comers. It won't matter if the corp is dead or full of chatty cathys.

All you need from the corporation is access to the "private" option for scanning red star access, for now.

The only real reason to join a corporation immediately upon reaching level 4 is for access to private red stars. Red star maps are randomly generated, but the RNG is based on the number of players involved. More players means better loot. This would seem to be a good thing, except that public red star 1 and 2 are full of griefers. While the Galaxy Chat community at large is fantastic, early public red stars are a chaotic nightmare.

In the image below, I circled 'region.' This can be changed to filter out corporations to your nationality and/or language.

Now, as your advance into the higher tier difficulties, it becomes more important to coop. You can easily solo red star 1, 2, and 3 with the bare minimum of tech. I am solo'ing rs4 after only having it unlocked two days, again with bare minimum tech. And as of this publishing, I am less than 8 hours to red star 5 with only 31 days of since account creation. That's fast, people, very fast.

Select your shipyard and open the build menu (the gears.) At the top you should see 4/5 (unless you've already done this.) This means we have an open fleet slot. Go ahead and build that second battleship. We'll want two of them to clear Cerb ships out of our empty sectors.

Take your time clearing the alien vessels, use asteroids and planets as way points to your advantage. Maneuver your ships out of reach as they about 1/3 damage taken. If you have alpha shields, this is easier.

Note that red star 1 only allows one battleship. RS2 through RS4 all use only 2 battleships, so don't bother building a third battleship, it'll just be a waste of credits.

Keep this in mind as you progress. Remember always, efficiency is success! Success in efficiency.
