Hades Star Walkthrough P1

In my first several blog posts, I've told you what not to do, what to avoid, what not to upgrade, etc.

In this post, we're flipping the table and getting down to a traditional "how to dominate" tutorial. The following guide is for those of you who have never loaded the game before, or who are perhaps restarting.

First and foremost, Hades Star is a game.

Have fun with it. It's a chill app, a relaxed atmo with a generally amazing, friendly, and helpful community. We don't suffer from the usual toxicity of mobile war games, and as a community we are quite proud of that.

The developers at Parallel Space have intentionally designed Hades Star to be casual friendly. Come for the sci-fi, stay for the community.

Secondly, play your own game, your own way. Everyone has a different playstyle. While all of the advice I give is from the aggressive and rapid advancement point of view, it's perfectly well and good to skip a day or three. Don't want to do your shipments tonight? Not even a thing. Too busy to log in? Not a problem. You won't be "punished" for being offline, like you would be in other player-vs-player war games.

Every player begins the game with the same planetary set up; except the planets are located in different positions and arrangements. This combined with our individual play styles and decision making means that I have to be somewhat generic in the follow advice.

Alright, so you just started and are playing through the tutorial. Don't worry, it doesn't take long and it gives you the rundown on the controls.

BUT!

Don't spend your crystals. The build times are exceptionally fast during the tutorial, don't feel pressured into using crystals for "finish now." One quality of life enhancement I encourage you to do is to place your Red Star Scanner and Research Station in close proximity to each other and to your desert planet. You will be flying between the three of them constantly, and less distance covered means less fuel wasted.

Since we're not wasting our crystals, there's a few minutes of down time while each step completes. You might be tempted to continue transporting shipments between your planets.

Don't do this. Save those shipments for later.

The tutorial gives you money at each step, usually enough to fill your credit capacity each time. This means the income from those shipments is lost. Better to wait until after the tutorial for that.

Here's a quick FAQ on basics:

  1. To repair damaged battleships, move them to one of your colonized planets

  2. There is Only One:

  • Research lab

  • Shipyard

  • Red star scanner

  • You will build as many as 12 Short Range Scanners

  1. Recommended starting fleet composition is 2 battleships/ 2 transports / 2 miners and then add a 3rd transport when you can

Now that the tutorial is out of the way, you should have several planets - one desert planet (your first) which has two moons. The second planet will be your fire planet, which has one moon. The third planet will be the water planet which will also have one moon.

Before I forget, hop over to the Galaxy chat and introduce yourself.

Now, in case you weren't paying attention to the tutorial, I'll give you a quick rundown on how shipments work.

Each colonized planet and owned trade station will generate a shipment. That shipment will have a destination, and the shipment will be labeled with the target destination and the value of the shipment.

For example, I have Planet A, B, C, and D. Planet A will generate shipments for planets B, C, & D of say $100. So I load those shipments onto my transport and then direct my transport to travel to each planet B, C, & D. As the shipment 'docks' with each planet, the shipment is automatically delivered and I get paid my $100.

Now is the time to finish up those first shipments. After all of your shipments are delivered, take all of your transports and your single battleship to your red star scanner (RSS.)

Once your fleet is docked at the RSS, select the target icon (#2 in from the left at the bottom) to bring up the RSS menu. The menu will default to Star Level <1> and Search Type <Public.>

Click on "start scanning" for 50H, after the time counts down you'll get a message saying a "new red star system has been discovered." Warp your fleet into the red star, blow up the cerb ships and steal their shit. Return the warp gate and warp home when done. Keep running red stars for artifact salvage in order to feed the insatiable beast that is your credit wallet. You can do this for a few runs, depending on fuel reserves. At some point you'll hit zero on the gas tank. Now it's time to put the game away for a couple hours.
